We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago, IL for a Product Manager, Client Solutions on our Periodical Publishing team. In collaboration with a cross functional partnership development team, the Product Manager, Client Solutions will support the growth of internal AMA content providers and external content providers. Present AMA Ed Hub platform capabilities to prospective and existing content providers. Formulate technology solutions that address content provider needs and align to mission, strategic and revenue objectives. Recommend platform enhancements based on knowledge of technologies, evolving trends, market and competitive conditions, stakeholder input, and content provider feedback.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Support client implementations

  • Engage with potential content providers and facilitate all technological aspects of content provider agreements between the AMA Ed Hub and content provider, for the Ed Hub product family
  • Collaborate with content providers and and AMA colleagues with relationships with these providers to identify cost-effective and operationally effective win-win scenarios that help reduce the friction in forming new relationships between external and internal content providers
  • Communicate new and upcoming business solutions to external and internal content providers
  • Review client technical infrastructure and devise integration solutions approved by the Director, Product Management that work within those systems, targeting solutions that leverage current technology
  • Author ongoing release communications to internal and external content providers; manage documentation library; work with internal teams to identify documentation needs; facilitate documentation development to meet requests
  • Conduct training for internal and external content providers, and participate in on-boarding activities for external content providers
  • Recommend solutions configuration for content providers and develop related documentation

Identify and recommend new product/platform features

  • Function as the voice of the content provider persona to internal product managers; champion changes to existing platforms that will support the needs of content providers
  • Identify gaps in our platform and systems as compared to competitors in the industry and maintain a dashboard of competing digital providers, and lead reviews of the dashboard on a bi-annual basis
  • Identify gaps in current technology that meet the needs of existing or potential internal and external content providers; document the requests with business objectives, ROI, and goal statements; submit requests to product managers; track the status of requests; manage the expectations of clients through communications of status and technology decisions regarding their requests
  • Assist product managers to roadmap new development based on content provider needs
  • Identify cost-effective solutions with the longest possible arc of benefit
  • Provide product pipeline reports for AMA Ed Hub and other internal AMA business units

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BA or BS required; an advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
  2. 7 years’ experience in publishing industry and/or digital education business with experience supporting complex technology architectures associated with enterprise publishing systems
  3. 5 years’ experience in product management and development of digital products, including experience authoring requirements, generating acceptance criteria, releasing products to a wide and mature end user audience
  4. Experience in presenting and communicating key concepts and ideas across all areas of the organization, and to clients and partners
  5. Proven track record in the responsibilities of driving product growth through clearly defined KPIs, data analysis and targeted online engagement marketing program
  6. Experience with stage-gate, lean, and/or agile product development processes required, serving as lead ‘product owner’ representing the voice of the partner, customer, business, and user
  7. Up to 35% travel required
  8. Domain expertise in any of the following areas strongly preferred: Healthcare CME and technology, Medical Publishing, SaaS, Software Product Development, Business Development and/or Account Management
