As an engineer on GetClever, you'll help shape the technical and product direction of our newest innovation project, assisting parents and guardians in providing guided, enriching screen time for their little ones in 3rd grade and below. We are working to aggregate and catalog the best educational content for independent, at-home learning, providing a seamless, varied experience via a single monthly subscription. We will be leveraging our unique position in the U.S. K-12 education system to connect students to our list of curated content from our application partners.

We work across the full-stack to create products that are robust and delightful for students, educators, families and developers to use. Currently we write frontend code in Node.js, TypeScript, React with Redux and React with GraphQL, React Native, and use Go for backend. We also use MongoDB, Postgres, Dynamo, and many AWS services (ECS, Step Functions, etc).
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
At Clever, our technical interviews are broken down into four steps and go as follows: 30 minutes with your At Clever, we value a holistic hiring process and want to get to know the candidate both technically and non-technically. We believe interviewing is not only a time for the team to interview the candidate, but the candidate is also interviewing us! Our interview process is follows:
a 30 minute phone call with your recruiter, a 30 minute 1:1 conversation with the hiring manager via Zoom, a technical architecture assessment with 2 of our team members and lastly the virtual onsite interview. Throughout each session, and with each individual the candidate meets, the candidate is given time to ask the interview questions as well.
In the final round, you have a chance to meet a cross-functional product team member, spend more time with your future manager and complete two more technical assessments: a coding session and a networking interview. All of our technical assessments are extremely collaborative as it is a chance for the interviewers and the candidates to see what it would be like to truly work together! The candidate is also not tested on a specific language or framework and is given the opportunity to work in the language they feel most comfortable in. Prior to the virtual onsite, the recruiter will hold a 30 minute prep call with the candidate to walk through their schedule, who they will be meeting and what will be covered in each session.
