JOB DESCRIPTION

WHAT WE EMPOWER YOU WITH:

  • Building and maintaining backend services written in Ruby, Go, and Python. Migrating functionality from legacy monoliths to new services.
  • Optimizing Nav’s customer journey experience, from first contact, through sign-up, and leveraging our financial solutions (credit cards, loans, premium account).
  • Building the framework that Nav’s disruptive solutions (tradelines, alerts, financing marketplace) plug into.
  • Turning business requirements into technical solutions. Turning technical solutions into business drivers.
  • Helping to establish best practices within Nav's growing Engineering organization.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A track record of successfully delivering maintainable backend systems in a Linux environment.
  • Experience developing and deploying services/products in B2B and or B2B2C environments.
  • Expert working/deployment knowledge Ruby, Go, Python, or Elixir.
  • A self starter who has the ability to work independently, providing regular updates on expected deliverables through the framework of stand-ups, team meetings, and ongoing project communication.

  • You are flexible and respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and plan, organize and carry out multiple, detailed tasks.
  • You are an influencer with strong business and financial acumen - you find the intersections between technical operations & company strategy.
  • You have excellent analytical,decision making and complex problem-solving skills.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • You will start with a zoom interview with the head of people.
  • If you are the right candidate then you will have a zoom technical interview with 2 managers of backend engineering.
  • If you are the right candidate then you will do a 3 hour code pair with 2 different groups. This code pair is a partnership where you will work with 2 current employees to solve a couple of challenges.
  • If you are the right candidate then we will offer.
