About Particular Software
Particular Software designs, sells, and supports software used by systems architects, developers and operations teams worldwide. Our clients span all industries and range from the smallest startups to Global 2000 companies. The company was founded in 2010, under the name NServiceBus, which remains the backbone product of the company. NServiceBus is a messaging framework that greatly simplifies building reliable and fault-tolerant distributed systems. The company began operating under the name Particular Software in 2013 to reflect the expansion of its product line into a broader platform.
The company has grown quickly and strategically, in both revenue and staff. One of our most distinctive features is that we have no traditional hierarchy (no supervisors, team leaders, etc). Another feature is that, just like our software, we’re fully distributed. We’ve worked this way since the company’s foundation and it’s part of our DNA. This has better equipped us to navigate some of the challenges of the new normal of work during the pandemic since we already knew how to work from home ...many of us just needed to learn how to do it with extra people around the house at all times! We are spread across 15 countries, covering multiple timezones, all conducting our work when it’s most suitable for us.
This kind of organization has its challenges, but many more rewards, including hiring the best people in the world, and creating a very productive culture.
Particular Software is currently looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:
Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
There are several steps in the interviewing process, and a determination is made at each stage by the interview task force whether the candidate should progress to the next level. We’ll let you know where you are along the way and won’t leave you hanging!
All interviews are done via video conferencing:
With your approval, all interviews are recorded so we can easily update other members of the interview task force. This also helps us continuously improve and train others.
We recognize that the best outcomes for the organization come from people collaborating effectively together in groups, more so than from individual brilliance.
For that reason, we've spent the last 3 years growing and fostering an environment where all voices are encouraged to be heard and prevailing wisdom can be challenged, even when it comes to the CEO's pet project (and yes, that actually happened).
While we know there's still more work for us to do in making our culture more inclusive and increasing the diversity of our work-force, we have already come a long way - in no small part because these topics are personally important to our Founder and CEO.
Our non-traditional organization structure, task force model, flexible work schedules, our core values and our 100% remote arrangement all combine to make our environment inclusive.
