Software Engineers at Oden build features to enable a widening array of analytical tasks against manufacturing data. Some of the questions we explore are:
How can we build a system that scales to deliver and synthesize all the information that operations managers need to understand their factories’ health and how to improve it?
How can we help line operators know the best course of action to take in real-time so they can maximize their production and minimize their waste?
How do we build partition tolerant services that run both on premise and in the cloud?
The tools we use for this include:
SQL and time series databases
Open-source cloud infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, Apache Beam, and Apache Airflow, deployed in GCP and on-prem
GraphQL and gRPC
4 years of professional software development experience
Strong CS fundamentals with proficiency in one or more languages such as Go, Java, C/C++, Python, or similar languages
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment with engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Introductory phone call with a member of our tech team for us to share information about Oden and the role, and learn about your skills and career goals
Take-home technical assignment in which you will be asked to write a small program to perform a calculation on data retrieved from an API using any language of your choice. The project shouldn't take longer than two hours, and we'll give you a week to complete it so you can work according to your own schedule.
A virtual "onsite" interview where you'll be asked to talk through solutions to a few whiteboard problems.
