And we’re just getting started. We are proud of our mission, devoted to our members, and passionate about applying technology to the challenge of making financial health a reality for everyone.

We have one of the most experienced management teams in Fintech and have raised over $800M in funding from DST, General Atlantic, Iconiq, Coatue, Dragoneer, Menlo, Access, Forerunner, and others. If you’re looking to join a fast-growing company with a beloved, daily-use product and an authentic mission that puts people first, we want to meet you.

About the Role

This role can be based in Chicago or San Francisco.

At Chime, we believe in the power of our product to help people lead healthier financial lives. Our risk team is tasked with keeping our members’ accounts safe, providing them uninterrupted access to their money, and minimizing the company’s risk exposure and fraud loss. We are looking for a Product Lead to help build the future of identity for Chime members. You will help build the team team that will be responsible for delivering the roadmap for authentication, identity verification, KYC, and other identity initiatives. You will partner with risk operations, engineering, and data science teams to build, test, execute, and iterate new and existing product solutions that protect our members, keep Chime compliant, and create a world-class experience for our members.

You will drive decision-making through customer insights, quantitative analysis, and collaborating with other stakeholders. You will own the end-end strategy, roadmap, and execution of Identity. This includes, but is not limited to infrastructure, product experience, collaboration with operations, and engineering roadmap. You bring deep empathy but can effectively prioritize with limited resources. You have a growth mindset and want to be challenged. You have a high bar and want to be a difference-maker in the organization. You’ll bring a sense of urgency that matches the incredible opportunity we have ahead of us.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and mission of the Identity team and build a world class organization

  • Own and drive the product roadmap for our Identity team to protect our members, keep Chime compliant, and create a world-class experience for our members.

  • Strategize, develop, and build upon solutions with data science and engineering to combat ever-changing fraud attack patterns

  • Collaborate with other product and operations teams to scale with Chime’s fast growing member base

  • Evangelize risk initiatives across Chime

  • Engage the risk community by participating in meet-ups, conferences, and other industry initiatives to stay up to date on best practices

  • Do things that don’t scale and iterate towards minimum-loveable-products that allow us to test our hypotheses while delivering a quality customer experience

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience as a product manager with preference in Identity or Trust & Safety

  • 2+ years managing and leading teams

  • Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs

  • Strong data analytical skills and experience with machine learning and AI methodologies

  • Empathy for users and a drive to discover and resolve their pain points

  • An owner’s mindset - you don’t shy away from the hard stuff

  • Experience at a fast-growing startup in a cross-functional environment

  • Passion for our mission: helping members lead healthy financial lives

  • Strong collaboration in team environments but able to act quickly as the decision-maker

What we offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience, medical and dental benefits, as well as a 401k match

  • Free snacks and drinks, plus weekly catered lunches.

  • Flexible vacation policy.

  • Monthly happy hours and company events.

  • A challenging and fulfilling opportunity to join one of the most experienced teams in FinTech and help create a completely new kind of banking service.

What efforts are you making in terms of increasing diversity & inclusion within your company?

Chime was created because we believe that everyone deserves financial peace of mind, and that’s why build our teams around the idea of 'everyone.' To that end, we put diversity of thought first by welcoming the perspectives and life experiences of all people. We proactively seek out diverse ideas, experiences, and skillsets when adding talent to our teams.

We know that to achieve a diverse team and inclusive environment, leadership buy-in is essential; we're fortunate to have a leadership team that champions our growth around D&I at Chime. Our leaders are committed to creating an inclusive workforce with belonging as the guiding principle. They—and we—know that it's only with a commitment to belonging that we can help every Chimer achieve professional growth, find individual freedom, and continue to innovate, all of which positively impact our team and the people we serve, our members.

After all, our focus is on our members and achieving our mission (one of our company values is to be member-obsessed!). Our team builds products and provides services for people from all walks of life, regardless of their financial standing—which makes Chime a unique opportunity in tech. Our hope is never to profit from our members but to profit with them. So instead of catering to the elite or a select audience, we're building Chime for everyone. The only way we'll ever succeed at doing so is if our team represents the members we serve.
