Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer for our engineering team. We seek qualified candidates to help build robust and scalable mobile and web solutions facilitating a science-backed mindfulness offering for both end consumers and businesses. The successful candidate will be able to combine problem solving, strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and broad technical knowledge. This position requires the ability to work with a diverse and interdisciplinary team.

While Healthy Minds Innovations is located in Madison, WI, remote applicants are welcome. HMI employees are temporarily working remotely under current conditions. This is a full time position.

Responsibilities

In this role, responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain an agile workflow for the HMI engineering team.
• Lead an engineering team to develop and maintain a mobile application in the mindfulness space.
• Lead an engineering team to facilitate scientific research through the mobile experience and through data analysis.
• Lead an engineering team to develop and maintain scalable backend architecture.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

While not required, we especially encourage applications from people who:

• Have familiarity with modern web and mobile technologies like Node.js and React Native
• Have familiarity with AWS, Lambda, DynamoDB, GraphQL, or equivalent technologies
• Have experience with pair programming and other forms of mentorship

In addition, the successful candidate must:

• Pass a background check
• Be able to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
• Have a bachelor's degree in a software-related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Have at least 5 years of Agile software development experience
• Be able to work and coordinate a remote team with a high level of self direction
• Be able and willing to work in a fluid start-up environment
• Have a passion for technology and stay up to date with new tools and developments
