About the job:

Help HPI transform the way we present our research. We’re looking for a teammate that will take access to our research findings to the next level! The Research Analyst, Data Visualization will be responsible for delivering data in useful and appealing formats to internal and external users, enhancing and modernizing the ADA Health Policy Institute’s data visualization function. This role will also help manage, clean, and program various data sources; work with other researchers in the team on specific data queries; and perform other activities as needed, such are survey reporting and drafting research articles.

We’re looking for a teammate with the following experience and abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in math, economics, data analytics, visualization, or other quantitative disciplines, with 3 years of proven experience in/with developing and publishing data visualization dashboards online, especially in Tableau. (In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of experience is required.)
  • Proficiency in Tableau for data storytelling.
  • Coding experience in SAS, STATA, or similar programing language.
  • Experience performing data queries, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to shift between multiple projects and to work with colleagues at different levels of the organization.
  • Passion for developing creative and innovative ways to improve visualizations, processes and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices, visual style guides, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

And these are also great “nice-to-haves” that would bring value to our team:

  • Microsoft SQL Server skills
  • Experience with ETL tools like Business Objects or Azure Data Factory
  • Familiarity with online survey tools
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Familiarity with Photoshop or similar graphic design tool
