Black mothers are twice as likely to experience complications in delivery and 3.3 times more likely to die a maternal death, even with controlling for education, income, and other factors. These complications, injuries, and deaths are largely preventable. Mae provides equitable access to clinically-validated strategies and interventions supporting best-in-class maternal health outcomes.

Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Product who is passionate about women’s health to join our team. The Head of Product will report to the CEO and work in close partnership with our founding leadership team, leading Mae’s product strategy, roadmap, and execution. This is an opportunity to be an early team member of a venture-backed digital health start-up.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Definition of Mae’s product strategy and roadmap
  • Close collaboration with Mae’s engineering team to advance agile design against our product roadmap
  • Research and solicitation of continuous user and customer feedback, and the distillation of feedback to inform product priorities and decision-making
  • Setting of measurable product goals and advancing against those goals each week, month, and quarter
  • Acting as the voice of the customer in internal product discussions
  • Management of Mae’s product team and function, as we grow and scale


  • 5+ years of product management experience launching high-growth products (ideally in healthcare)
  • A depth of understanding - or aptitude to quickly learn - behavioral and human-centered product design
  • Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data to drive decision-making
  • Creativity and scrappiness in approach to solving customer needs
  • A love for speaking with customers, and a natural inclination towards active listening, and consideration of multiple points of view
  • Entrepreneurial enthusiasm and collaborative approach to working and learning
