Job Description

Ten Mile Square is looking for a talented full-stack Javascript software engineer who is passionate about technology to join our growing team of product, technology, and software professionals. The initial assignment for the new position is to develop an innovative patent management system. Development will primarily occur in the Ten Mile Square offices in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will work with highly experienced team leads and have an opportunity to learn new technologies, while refining fundamental skills.

  • Build a patent management system frontend using React or Vue

  • Augment the patent management system backend using Node

  • Proactively collaborate with the Ten Mile team on development and knowledge sharing

  • Represent yourself and Ten Mile Square with integrity, expertise, and value

  • Complete time, expense, and billing reports on timely basis

  • Maintain the confidentiality of our clients on an ongoing basis


  • 1 - 3 years of software development experience using JavaScript frameworks

  • Working knowledge of SQL

  • Full application stack development experience: front-end to persistence

  • Full software lifecycle participation: requirements to post-implementation

  • Agile software development/SCRUM

  • Linux command line

Icing on the cake, working knowledge of the following:

  • Cloud based software deployment, AWS is a plus

  • Serverless application development

  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery

What is your Interview process like?

We start with a 30 minute phone interview to check for basic technical knowledge and communication skills, and to provide information about our company.

If things look good at this point, we will invite you in for an in person interview that will last for 2-3 hours. During this interview, you will meet with a number of people including the team you will be working with, other key contributors to the company, and at least one of the partners. You will be asked to describe in detail previous work that you have done and questions that explore your problem solving approach and skills. You will also be given the opportunity to learn more about us. (It's a two way process after all)

If there is a good mutual consensus of fit and opportunity, then we will move to make you a verbal offer. If you like what you hear, we'll put it in writing and set a start date.
