A conversational search engine for your files

What You'll Do

Our team is building the future of enterprise search. We help our users find their stuff no matter where it is. As a full-stack engineer you will:

  • Have the opportunity to work across our client application (desktop and web), middleware and backend services
  • Take a leadership role in developing new features
  • Work with application telemetry data to diagnose and remediate issues
  • Work with infrastructure and research teams to integrate state-of-the art capabilities into our product

The key components of our stack you'll work with:

  • Rails
  • Electron
  • Webpack
  • PostgreSQL
  • Elasticsearch
  • Kubernetes

You will join a growing engineering team and have the opportunity to help shape the future of Searchable.ai. With new users joining every day and connecting millions of files you will get to join a growth-stage startup as we emerge from stealth.

You are...

  • An experienced full-stack engineer with substantive Rails experience
  • Comfortable working with APIs, databases, client-side JavaScript
  • Entrepreneurial and curious
  • A team-first contributor that enjoys collaborating on ideas and work

Although headquartered in San Francisco, we are a remote-first company with a distributed workforce. Currently, our employees must be based somewhere in the continental U.S.

To apply, send a resume and a little note about why you want to join us to \careers@searchable.ai.

What is your Interview process like?

We have a straightforward three step process:

1. Initial 30min interview with our CTO

2. Interview with the functional leadership for this position and 2-3 additional teammates. Typically we do this over two hours.

3. Final interview with our CEO

We don't believe in coding tests or whiteboard interviews or anything that involves questions about how many tennis balls might fit into a skyscraper. If you have prior work you'd like to share, that's always cool, but not required. Through our interviews we'll be more than able to discern if your technical experience aligns with our goals for the position.

What efforts are you making in terms of increasing diversity & inclusion within your company?

We are a growing startup and as we pursue our next round of hiring we are committed to ensuring we further diversify our team. Our entire team is excited about, and focused on, growing our team from underrepresented communities.
