About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and deployment of the software components of our products. You will work closely with our product development and engineering team on a variety of projects. On a given day, you may build a data analysis pipeline, integrate a new data acquisition device, build a data visualization tool, or design a user interface. The ideal candidate will approach this work with a mixture of intellectual curiosity, thoughtful creativity, and methodical rigor. The ideal candidate gets great satisfaction from seeing people do great things with their work, and above all is excited to solve hard problems that have a positive impact on the world’s clean energy future.

Responsibilities will include

• Be a key contributor to our growing software development and engineering team
• Build software tools to calibrate, validate, and troubleshoot system performance.
• Build UIs and software tools that customer and internal teams will use to collect data and visualize results.
• Build modules & tools to control our hardware and collect data, and integrate them into our existing toolchain.
• Collaborate with our engineering and data science teams to grow our measurement and analytics stacks into deployable products.
• Help develop and scale our data pipelines and handling/analysis workflows.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• A passion for working to accelerate the global transition to clean energy.
• Have a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and well-documented software.
• Python fluency that includes experience with numpy, pandas, and matplotlib.
• Comfortable working with and developing for UNIX/Linux systems.
• Experience designing and building UIs for hardware control or data visualization
• Experience querying relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite3).
• Working knowledge of web services and REST APIs.

Nice to haves:

• Experience working collaboratively with mechanical and electrical engineers to define functional requirements and trade offs.
• Experience in a full-stack software engineering role, working on a team that is building an industrial hardware/software product
• Experience with database design, optimization, and management.
• Experience with the JavaScript ecosystem.
• Experience setting up & working in Docker or other containerized environments.
• Experience with embedded systems, transducers, power electronics, or circuit design.
• Experience controlling and interacting with electromechanical components programmatically, e.g. over serial, GPIO, or Ethernet.
• Strong statistical background.
