Be an important part of Pratt Institute's growing dynamic and collaborative communications and marketing division. Work within Pratt’s new Web and Digital Communications team to manage digital projects that are transformative, user-centric, and outstanding among our peers.

Pratt's Communications and Marketing division (PComm) requires a new Digital Project Manager to be a key member of Pratt’s Web and Digital Communications team. Reporting to the Director of Web and Digital Communications and collaborating with our digital communications, editorial, creative, marketing, and client services teams, the Digital Project Manager will execute projects that drive innovative, integrated, multi-platform initiatives while managing inter-divisional and institutional stakeholder relationships. All projects will ultimately support communications and marketing division’s strategies, which seek to enhance the Institute’s reputation through increased visibility of the Institute’s initiatives, engagement of new audiences, and promotion of news, events, and accomplishments related to its programs, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

Job Duties:

  • working with the Director of Web and Digital Communications, as well as a variety of technical and non-technical staff across the Institute, serving as the Digital Project Manager for the Digital Communications team, a new initiative within PComm;

  • assuming primary project ownership over all initiatives undertaken by the Digital Communications team, both within the division and across the Institute;

  • managing deliverables for the Institute’s website, , as well as its social media channels and digital monitors, if and as needed;

  • working across the team and the division to devise and implement new production workflows specific to the digital communications operation, as well as the wider PComm operations;

  • assuming primary ownership for everyday digital project management and larger-scale technical project management within the digital communications team and across PComm;

  • collaborating with project managers to ensure well-orchestrated production timelines;

  • serving as a strong client-facing ambassador and reputable leader for the Digital Communications team, which is a new initiative at the Institute and seeks to garner good will across the organization;

  • exhibiting an energetic, can-do attitude with exceptional instincts and commitment to positive client service interactions;

  • serving as a strong, professional liaison between the Institute and outside contractors who may be commissioned to provide services to the Institute;

  • liaising with stakeholders within and across the team, division, and organization to ensure clear, effective communication and positive, respectful, and collegial working relationships across the Institute.


The ideal candidate is a nimble thinker, strong cross-institutional collaborator, and results-driven, solutions-oriented project manager. The candidate has a strong history of producing projects that are specific to and in support of cultural organizations or institutions of higher education similar to the Pratt Institute.

The candidate has a strong, demonstrable history of delivering digital products — websites, in particular — on time and on budget while maintaining positive client relationships. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills that facilitate collaboration with colleagues at all levels and with internal and external customers. The Digital Production Coordinator must be self-motivated, efficient, and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate is trained in Agile project management or an equivalent method.

The candidate will remain empathetic to the Institute’s community of undergraduates and graduates who are studying an interdisciplinary curriculum spanning art, design, architecture, information and library science, and liberal arts and science; the candidate will also possess the ability to imagine, grow, and engage with external audiences. The candidate should be both an “early adopter” and an easy adaptor, have a strong fluency in emerging and ever-changing trends in digital media.


Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Agile or other project management certification preferred; equivalent experience considered


  • three to five years of project management experience, preferably in a similar institution or organization;

  • strong, proven track record of successful project completion on time and on budget;

  • strong everyday project management experience and facility with file management, content management systems, and production best practices;

  • experience managing workflows using tools such as Github, Asana, Trello, and Slack.


  • strong understanding of multi-stakeholder, cross-platform digital publishing operations and both the technical and the people-centric workflows they engender;

  • strong understanding of and sensitivity to UX/UI, visual, and human-centric design concepts;

  • strong working understanding of technical products and project management tools;

  • strong people skills and emotional intelligence, ability to work on a collaborative team comprised of many people with a variety of technical and non-technical skills; must have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff from diverse backgrounds, as well as demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural perspectives and experiences;

  • ability to collaborate with other project managers within the organization and to liaise with external consultants, as needed;

  • experience with managing project budgets;

  • exceptional time and people management skills;

  • strong written and oral communication skills;

  • strong desire and ability to work collaboratively with graphic, UX/UI, and other designers;

  • strong sense of responsibility and ownership for project success.
