Help every child have a safe, loving, and stable family
Since launching in 2017, Binti has helped over 40,000 families get approved to foster and/or adopt children. Binti partners with county and state governments as well as private agencies across 27 states to improve the foster care system. The 190+ agencies using Binti serve about 22% of children in child welfare in the US. On average, agencies using Binti have increased the number of approved families by 80%, making a real dent in the shortage of foster/adoptive parents for children in the US. Beyond helping families foster/adopt children, Binti is launching software to support families who are struggling to get the services they need to stay together with or reunify with their children.
We’re a team of 80+ people and the Binti Family is growing quickly. We have a huge, ambitious vision to help every child have a family and rewire government to be more effective in order to expand opportunity for people around the world. We care about creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome and can bring their full self to work. We are looking for mission-driven, high empathy, high performance, low ego team members to join us on this exciting journey.
Binti is a for-profit, mission-driven software company based in Oakland, CA. Investors include Founders Fund, First Round Capital, Kapor Capital, and others.
Join us as we strive to reinvent child welfare, and make a difference one community at a time.
Overview of role
At Binti, Product Managers drive the strategy and execution of innovative software products that make it easier for children to have the safety, support, and permanency of a loving home. We spend much of our time understanding the intricacies of how the child welfare system impacts our many end users (children, families of origin, foster/adoptive families, social workers, care teams), all of whom use Binti in very different ways. As a PM, you’ll work closely with Engineering, Design, Analytics, and customer-facing teams to hold our product quality bar high while keeping the child first. You’ll do so alongside a kind, collaborative team of experienced Product Managers who have big ambitions for Binti and the impact we can have in child welfare.
Location
This role is open to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area (you have the option to work from our Oakland office as it is safe to do so), or fully remote candidates who are open to working PT hours full-time (10am - 4pm PT core hours) for real-time collaboration with the team.
Scope
We are looking for a Product Manager who will help Binti scale to its biggest hopes and dreams - supporting all agencies, all around the world. While child welfare agencies by and large have the same goals, the pathways they take to reach those goals vary significantly. We are looking for a technical PM who can understand the spectrum of agency needs and build a roadmap that operationalizes the configuration of agencies. Our goals are threefold: 1) to support all agency launches with 0 engineering work, 2) keep data clean, organized, and consumable despite significant customization per agency, and 3) give Binti deployments a custom, whitelabel feel, while still maintaining SaaS platform standardization. Doing these successfully enables better collaboration and data-sharing between agencies, and unlocks significant opportunities for Binti to use aggregated data to inform outcome-improving policy.

Perks and Benefits
At Binti, we celebrate having a diverse team and believe our differences make us stronger. Binti is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all qualified applicants to apply without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected Veteran status.
The full process consists of 1) a telephone call with the hiring manager, which will dig into past experience and product sense, 2) a video call with a member of the team, which will ask you to consider a hypothetical product problem and talk through solutions, and 3) 4-5 virtual video interviews that will include a mock user interview as well as questions about collaboration with engineering, project management, leadership, and values. There are no take-home tests and no coding interviews.
Binti is led by a woman CEO and woman CTO, both of whom care deeply about issues of diversity and inclusion. The Tech team is relatively diverse in gender, sexual orientation, and race, and has prioritized diversity in hiring. We also try to keep internal systems fair and inclusive, from big things (salary transparency) to smaller things (rotating office admin tasks like taking notes instead of asking for volunteers). We know that no organization is perfect, but in our space (foster care), we also know it's incredibly important to consider diverse viewpoints and make space for ideas and leadership from underrepresented folks.
