JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking an analytical mind to act as Sustaio’s researcher, analyst, numbers cruncher, and a sustainable practices firewall. Background may include greenhouse gas accounting, lifecycle analysis and environmental sciences with a passion for helping people and planet live better.

Are you comfortable working in a startup environment and wearing many different hats…lots of them? This is a very new company, we live in dog years and there are constant moving parts, switching gears, and pivots. You need to be comfortable with the unknown.

Location: Remote or in-person | HQ: Telluride, CO

Flexible Hours / Part-time with possibility to grow into full-time.

Role Description:

You’ll be performing these tasks and working closely with and reporting to the CEO:

  • Constant research and framework-ing for many different sectors i.e., energy, automotive, CPG, etc.
  • Study LCA literature to calculate learning loop metrics.
  • Run metric conversions & calculate circular savings.
  • Utilize design thinking to reach new feature developments.
  • Assist in the development of the app’s metric systems & data infrastructure.
  • Execute production of large sets of data.
  • Conduct market research for features, systems, cohorts, and referral programs.
  • Work closely with the CEO, marketing, and/or product teams to:

    • Build ESG standards.
    • Optimize user experience.
    • Consult and analyze user feedback.
    • Provide green-washing editorial firewall.
  • Use metrics and analytics tools to better understand user behavior and adjust the frameworks accordingly.
  • Manage monitoring and logging systems of data.
  • Ensure all systems are secure and follow privacy and security best practices.

Experience & Skills Desired:

  • Background in life cycle analysis, sustainability, carbon accounting, environmental science, and/or ecology.
  • Familiar with sustainability principles of community, commerce, natural resources, ecological design, and the biosphere.
  • Familiar with sustainability frameworks: Cradle 2 Cradle, WRI GHG Protocols, Circular Economics, Biomimicry, Life Cycle Analysis, Material Health, UN SDGs.
  • Experience working in B2C SaaS environments.
  • Tech-savvy, digitally sophisticated.
  • Strong planning & communication skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Shamelessly in love with math and number crunching.

  • Have a can-do spirit, i.e., if you don’t know the answer you will figure it out!

INTERVIEW PROCESS


Initial interview - with founder

Second interview - with industry expert (founder may be on this call) to make sure they have the right background in LCA & carbon accounting & creative thinking. You will be asked how you approach the measurement of a few lifestyle impacts off the top of your head. (this is to show your creative thinking and soft LCA skills)

Third interview - with founder & team (culture fit) Are you comfortable working in a startup environment and wearing many different hats…lots of them? This is a very new company, we live in dog years and there are constant moving parts, switching gears, and pivots. You need to be comfortable with the unknown. That being said, living well, work-life balance, and mental health are very important to us. We will be piloting a 4 day work week for the remainder of 2021.
