Position Summary
The University Marketing department is seeking a Web Specialist. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
University Marketing strives to increase Oregon State’s name recognition and appreciation through varied platforms, channels and strategies that support the overall strategic plan of the university.
It is the responsibility of each University Marketing staff member to deliver an accurate, authentic, highly engaging and inclusive message to university audiences. All members of the University Marketing department work to enhance the Oregon State brand and deliver on our promise as the state’s land grant university through integrated and aligned marketing and communication strategies.
The department functions as a creative services provider that promotes the university, colleges, units and programs. It is expected that this position will add to a culture of continued learning, collaboration and respect, including active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion.
The web specialist position is part of a digital marketing team whose main goal is to advance the brand of Oregon State University and inform the public about the university in the digital space. This position is part of a team that includes writers, editors, visual artists, project managers, social media specialists, content creators and strategic leaders. This position is responsible for website design, development and the maintenance of numerous leadership websites and top-level university web pages. These websites promote the research enterprise of OSU, faculty stories, public service, and policies. The web specialist works closely with division leadership on digital formats to deliver priority university communications. Through the work on leadership websites, this position is made aware of sensitive and confidential information before it is made available to the public.

Minimum/Required Qualifications
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The work of this position is primarily located in Corvallis, Ore. Some work may be done remotely at the discretion of the supervisor. Occasional evening and weekend work is required when adjustments are needed for websites that are critical to university communications or strategies. For example: post emergency alert messages on the homepage.
