JOB DESCRIPTION

Redox is a growing company with the purpose of making healthcare data useful by building reusable infrastructure. 

Redox Engineers solve hard, fulfilling problems in health tech while fostering a top-notch working culture, having fun, and respecting each other.  We value a desire to learn, adapt, and problem solve to delight our customers.

🍐  Team Productivity over Individual Productivity - A collaborative work environment, you’ll pair with your teammates daily (we’ve been remote since 2014!) to make progress on projects or solve problems as needed.

💚 To work on new and existing web applications, flexibly moving between frontend code and the supporting backend implementation.

♾️ Our environment embraces DevOps culture and ownership of our team’s systems, both the application and the infrastructure of it. 

👩‍💻 We work in React, NodeJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, and use tools and technologies like Kafka, Postgres, and Terraform in an AWS hosted environment.

We are currently growing all of our application teams and creating new ones to pursue new markets. If you’re interested, please read on for requirements and to apply.

You are probably a good fit for one of our engineering teams if you:

  • Have 5+ years of professional software development experience in one or more general purpose languages and are specifically proficient in React with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Are experienced with React design patterns and best practices, and understand how to apply them to new and existing development.
  • Are comfortable moving between backend and frontend development work, based on the needs of your team.
  • Enjoy mentoring other engineers.
  • Approach your work with curiosity, embrace your learning zone, and are fueled by a desire to expand your impact.
  • Routinely take on complex projects that can span multiple months.
  • Focus on connecting business and customer value to your work.
  • Take on a leadership role in projects that you are executing on helping the team understand tradeoffs and execute to business needs.
  • Weigh tough tradeoffs and bias towards action and execute strategically.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  • Intro Call (45 min) - meet with one of our Engineering Leaders one on one!  Learn more about Redox, our focus, and our culture.
  • Logistics Call (30 min) - our Talent Partner will walk you through the interview process, benefits, compensation, etc.
  • Coding Exercise - Spend up to 3 hours during this independent coding exercise where you will be adding some new functionality to a NodeJS/React application in a GitHub repository
  • Final Interview Day (can be broken up if needed):

Pairing Session (90 min) - meet with the engineers who received your Coding Exercise: share your screen, review the feedback from their time reviewing your code, and collaborate on additional features!

Skills Interview (60 min) - we will provide you a scenario, you will then walk the interviewers through how you approach your work and handle situations that could occur in your daily work life.
